The day is done. Whether you work remotely or get home after a long day at work, you collect your mail. And there it is — a jury summons.

For some, the first jury summons is like a shiny new toy that fascinates. It brings a momentary thrill and excitement. You anticipate your moment to shine and weigh in with your peers on someone’s guilt or innocence. Visions of Perry Mason or Bull float across your mind building a climax to the sound of justice with your voice mingling among your peers.

For others, like Sean Kernan, being on jury duty is something you are willing to pay to avoid. He is great at giving you a chuckle while driving his point home.
